Star Man was a savage. Easily the most powerful character on the game. From the flying elbow to the back flip kick to the face Star Man was my favorite character. You can't deny Fighter Hayabusa's back brain kick either because whenever he connected with it the opponent would just crumble.

I absolutely love this game. When I was a kid in the 80's, a good friend of mine managed an a local arcade in the mall. So I could play many games for free. I gladly payed to play Dragon's Lair....and I played a lot. I eventually got good enough to play all the way through without dieing. The Dragon's Lair there had the above moniter so others could watch. This game spoke to me so much. I love this game. Even when I could beat it straight through without dieing, it still didn't get old. So now,some 40 Yeats later I modded an Arcade 1up to play over 6000 games. I definitely made sure that Dragon's Lair was one of the games. I also picked up a Dragons Lair mini cabinet. I think I saw you have one also. Although I could beat the game almost with my eyes closed 40 years ago...I have trouble beating it now..lol. getting old sucks. I'm going to keep playing it as long as I can. Great video. I simply can't say how much this game means to me. It's so good to see someone else that has the passion for this game as much as I do. Thank you.

I feel like AVGN is the main reason this game is so hated (dont get me wrong i love AVGN and even in a james and mike mondays he asmits he was too hard on it) cuz this game does have a lot of strategy you can almost consider it survival horror

During the nes period I wasnt into wrestling a whole lot kind of changed in the early 90s so went back and played some of these! I had alot of fun with royal rumble tho for snes!

Wind pulley : move horizontally where the rope starts. Rygar’s crown just below the wooden pole. Move left and right where the rope is around the chest area without getting too close to the cliff. If not engaging, Tap up or down and try again left and right until it engages. It took me may times to figure this out, but after months or years without playing it, it all comes back as if it was yesterday. I played this game aimlessly for a long time. It was great to find new places and to listen to the music, until my cousin sat down once to play from start to finish and I never forgot the route. I did struggle the first time playing after over a decade. But never again! I still do my playthrough every so often to keep it fresh. Nice video!

I bought my NES specifically to play Zelda after renting a system and the game at the local movie rental store for a weekend. It is, by far, still my favorite game/series.

This game was so frustrating lol. I remember my mom bought it for me and I was mad because we couldn't return it after it was opened. 😂

Totally agree on Marble Madness; criminally underrated. Largely agree on Friday the 13th, too -- it's not great, but much, much better than most people seem to give it credit for. That said, 105 is *generous* for Karate Kid. It is easily one of the 5-10 worst games I've played on the NES. Dr. Mario does absolutely suck, though.

As someone who speed ran this to the second highest place on the leaderboard(like 8 years ago), I appreciate the in depth love and detail you put into explaining everything. The speedrunning strat makes you ignore so much about the game that made me fall in love with it as a kid so fuck yeah.

Dude I used to love playing Hayabusa and kicking my brother and cousin in the head using the back brain kick on them over and over. I got so good with it I newer missed.

Looking back to a time I'm too young to even remember, I'm utterly _baffled_ they didn't try to get the license for Tetris. That would've been the _perfect_ fit for the display technology!

This game for sure holds a special place in my heart. It was the first video game I ever played. When my sister and I got our NES in the Summer of 1989, this was the game we picked up on the side. The system already came bundled with Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt. This game will always give a warm nostalgic vibe even when I play it to this day.

Idk if it was scummy marketing (no more so than any other kids products). I think they sold because they had a great price point and relentless licensing of massive IP.

You don't jump over the hammer to dodge it. You hit the punch button at the right moment to dodge it and then hit your d pad to face the correct direction and do it again. It took me almost two decades to learn that.

I can't believe that PGA Tour Golf II flew under my radar for so long. I'm picking up for sure. I need a good golf game for the Genesis.
